My Sermons

What you will discover here are sermon notes. I work from extensive notes rather than a manuscript. The notes create a progression of thought leading from the introduction to the conclusion. They are a little like connecting the dots of a puzzle. It ought to be said that sometimes the dots do not line up as I thought they would.

I hope that you are able to follow my thought patterns. If you are not please feel free to question what I have tried to communicate. I would be delighted to talk with you by e-mail. With each sermon title and text there is a précis. Let me know how well you believe that I did in fulfilling my intentions. My e-mail address is: les@lesandhelga.com

Sermons will be posted soon after they have been preached on the Sunday of the calendar.

You will find past and current sermons and future sermon ideas on the pages below. The years are calculated from Advent through Pentecost.

Study Helps are outlines or a series of questions or statements that help the worshipper gain more understanding from the sermon and the worship experience.

The Study Helps for each sermon begin with October 2, 2001 and will continue as long as I am pastoring the Arena Congregational Church.

You will find an excellent source of illustrative material on the pages: A Bit of Humor and Thought for the Week.

Just a note: I was retired from November 2000 through January 14, 2001. it is at this time that I began a ministry at the Arena Congregational Church. So there is no sermon information available for this period (December 3, 2000 through January 7, 2001.
