The Certainty of God's Promises (Return to Top (The Certainty of God's Promises)
being fully convinced
that God was able to do what he had promised. --Romans 4:21 (back)
For in him every one of God's promises is a "Yes." For this reason it is through him that we say the "Amen," to the glory of God. -- 2 Corinthians 1:20 (back)
Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God. -- 2 Corinthians 7:1 (back)
Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature. -- 2 Peter 1:4 (back)
And this is what he
has promised us, eternal life. -- 1 John 2:25 (back)
Promises of Hope (Return to Top Promises of Hope)
Therefore, O God of
Israel, let your word be confirmed, which you promised to your servant my father David.
-- 1 Kings 8:26(Back)
therefore thus says the Lord GOD, See, I am laying in Zion a foundation stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation: "One who trusts will not panic." -- Isaiah 28:16 (Back)
Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For it is on him that God the Father has set his seal." -- John 6:27(Back)
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. --2 Corinthians 5:1 (Back)
because of the hope laid up for you in heaven. You have heard of this hope before in the word of the truth, the gospel -- Colossians 1:5 (Back)
so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible that God would prove false, we who have taken refuge might be strongly encouraged to seize the hope set before us. We have this hope, a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters the inner shrine behind the curtain, -- Hebrews 6:18-19 (Back)
Blessed be the God
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he has given us a new birth into a
living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, -- 1 Peter 1:3 (Back)
Promises of the Presence of God (Return to Top Promises of the Presence of God)
and teaching them to

of the age." -- Matthew 28:20 (Back)
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. -- John 10:28 (Back)
Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. -- John 15:4 (Back)
I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. -- John 17:23 (Back)
For I am convinced
that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to
come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able
to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. -- Romans
8:38-39 (Back)
Promises of Christ's Love (Return to Top Promises of Christ's Love)
As the Father has loved
me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. -- John 15:9 (Back)
No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. --John 15:13 (Back)
Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? -- Romans 8:35 (Back)
and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. -- Galatians 2:20(Back)
and live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. -- Ephesians 5:2(Back)
Beloved, let us love
one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. God's love was revealed among us
in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. In
this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the
atoning sacrifice for our sins. Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love
one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his
love is perfected in us. -- 1 John 4:7-12 (Back)

you and eat with you, and you with me. --Revelation 3:20 (Back)
Promises of the Nearness of God (Return to Top Promises of the Nearness of God)

with the morning. -- Psalms 30:5 (Back)
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help -- Psalms 42:5 (Back)
He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far he removes our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion for his children, so the LORD has compassion for those who fear him. For he knows how we were made; he remembers that we are dust. -- Psalms 103:10-14 (Back)

even to your old age I am he, even when you turn gray I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save. -- Isaiah 46:4 (Back)
The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion-- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, to display his glory. --Isaiah 61:1-3 (Back)
in all their distress. It was no messenger or angel but his presence that saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old. - Isaiah 63:9 (Back)

Blessed be the God
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation,
who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in
any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God. For just
as the sufferings of Christ are abundant for us, so also our consolation is abundant
through Christ. If we are being afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation; if we
are being consoled, it is for your consolation, which you experience when you patiently
endure the same sufferings that we are also suffering. Our hope for you is unshaken; for
we know that as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our consolation. - 2 Corinthians 1:3-7 (Back)
Promises to the Afflicted (Return to Top Promises to the Afflicted)
When you pass through
the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when
you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
- Isaiah 43:2 (Back)
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. -- John 14:1-3(Back)

And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. -- Philippians 4:19(Back)
Blessed is anyone who endures temptation. Such a one has stood the test and will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. No one, when tempted, should say, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself tempts no one. But one is tempted by one's own desire, being lured and enticed by it; then, when that desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and that sin, when it is fully grown, gives birth to death. Do not be deceived, my beloved. Every generous act of giving, with every perfect gift, is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. --James 1:12-17 (Back)
Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble. For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you. -- 2 Peter 1:10-11 (Back)

they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint
my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days
of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD my whole life long. -- Psalms 23 (Back)
