SUGGESTIONS FOR WEDDING VOWS

You may use one of these sets of vows, or combine your preferences from several or use these suggestions to write your own. One set is for both the Bride and the Groom.

Check the box next to the vows that you have selected for your wedding, unless you choose to write your own vows or combine parts of several into one.

1. I, N., take you, N., to be my wedded husband/wife, to have an to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until death us do part, according to God's holy ordinance; and accordingly I pledge you my faith.

2. I, N., take you, N., to be my wedded husband/wife, to live together in the covenant of faith, hope, and love, according to the intention of God for our lives together in Jesus Christ. I will listen to your inmost thoughts, be considerate and tender in my relationship with you, and will stand with you faithfully, in sickness and in health, and, preferring you above all others, accept responsibility for your every necessity as long as we both shall live.

3. I, N., take you, N., to be my wedded husband/wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn pledge to you.

4. I, N., take you, N., to be my husband/wife from this day forward, to join with you and to share all that is to come, and with the help of god, I promise to be faithful to you throughout all our life together.

5. I, N., take you, N., to be my husband/wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.

6. I, N., take you, N., take you from this time onward to be my wedded husband/wife, to join with you and to share all that is to come, to give and to receive, to speak and to listen, to inspire and to respond, and in all the circumstances of our life together to be loyal to you with my whole life and with all my being.

7. I, N., promise before God and these witnesses to be your faithful husband/wife, to share with you in plenty and in want, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health, to forgive and nurture you so that together we may serve God and others as long as we both shall live.

8. I, N., take you, N., to be my husband/wife, and these things I promise you: I will be faithful to you, and honest with you; I will respect, trust, help and care for you; I will forgive you as we have been forgiven; and I will try with you to better understand ourselves, the world and God through the best and the worst of what is to come, as long as we both shall live.

9. N., I promise with God's help to be your faithful husband/wife, to love and nurture you as God commands, as long as we both shall live.

10. N., I give myself to you to be your husband/wife. I promise, from this day forward, to love and sustain you in this covenant of marriage, in sickness and in health, in plenty and in want, in joy and in sorrow, as long as we both shall live.
