Sunday
School 1999 Annual Report
Sunday School classes for the children
have been held each Sunday during the last portion of the morning worship
service. Songs, stories and activities teaching them about the Life of Christ
is the current focus. Adult Sunday school had been held prior to the
morning worship service, but has been on hiatus. I am hoping to get the adult
class active again and would encourage everyone to get involved in this time
of Bible study.
Respectfully submitted,
Karen Wilkinson

Volunteers
1999 Annual Report
The Volunteer-Missionary Society met
regularly on the first Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the church
fellowship room. There are sixteen members on the roll call list with an
average attendance of eight. This years officers were: President-Marion
Sanford, Vice President-vacant, Secretary-Vivian Dodge, and
Treasurer-Clara Harrop. Committees were Sunshine-Marion Sanford, Luncheon-Clara
Harrop, Vivian Dodge, and Darlene Mellom.
Some projects we worked on were: lap
robes, wheelchair and walker bags for shut ins at Nursing homes.
Hospice and also those at home. We also made baby quilts to give to newborn
babys.
Other projects we took part in were
money donations; $1,000.00 toward our new kitchen counter tops, $250.00
to R. B. C. Ministries for the distribution of the Daily Bread, and
$100.00 to Madison Rescue Mission.
Our group purchased and planted flowers
in the three planters outside the church in the front and by the church
sign. Another valuable service we provide with help from members of the
congregation and others in the community is to serve a luncheon after
funerals. This year we served the luncheon for Mary Stafford's funeral,
one of our church members.
We cleaned the church kitchen in April
and again with members help after the counter tops were installed.
Two months we held on activity instead
of the regular meeting. In July we met at Grandma Mary's Restaurant for
lunch and then played some games.
In September we went on an outing to
Oakwood Fruit Farm with dinner at Peaches and some shopping at WalMart.
Every other month we have devotions and
the next month we do a project.
Sending cards and visitations are an
important part of our ministry.
In December we purchased and delivered
eight Poinsettia plants to shut-ins. Helping in any way we can, caring,
and sharing in His Service.

Vivian Dodge, Secretary
